John F Byrne Golf Course, managed by First Tee—Greater Philadelphia, is dedicated to providing affordable access to golf and life skills education for the kids in northeast Philadelphia. The course was saved from permanent closure by First Tee, ensuring that the community can benefit from its offerings. This facility is open 364 days a year, allowing students and golfers to enhance their learning, skills, and recreational resources. The John F. Byrne Golf Club has undergone significant upgrades since 2019. Its clubhouse has undergone a major renovation project, reopening in 2022. Additionally, the course has undergone improvements such as a cart path project and installation of an irrigation system.
