Lake Presidential Golf Club is an upscale championship course located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, just 20 miles from Washington, D.C. This public course, operated by PGA of America Professionals, is considered one of the best and toughest in Maryland. Designed and built by Landmark Land Company, the course debuted in 2008 and hosted U.S. Open qualifying within a few years. The course is known for its generous landing zones, but also includes sloping fairways, ravines, gulley carries, and thick woods composed of giant poplar and sycamore trees. The stunning green complexes feature white sand bunkers, swales, hollows, and native grasses. The multi-tiered putting surfaces come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The course offers distance options ranging from 4,895 yards to 7,230 yards and includes a couple of short par 4s and three holes that utilize the lake. Lake Presidential Golf Club has a large driving range, chipping area, sand bunker, and putting green, as well as a full-service pro shop, locker rooms with showers, and a restaurant and bar with beautiful views of the lake. While walking is allowed, it is uncommon due to the hilly terrain.
