Neshanic Valley Golf Course is the flagship facility of the Somerset County, New Jersey Park Commission that features 36 golf holes designed by Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry. Since it opened in 2004, the course has hosted several prestigious men's and women's championships, including the 2012 USGA Women's Public Links Championship. Spread across 420 acres of former farmland that overlooks the historic Neshanic Valley, the golf course comprises of three regulation championship nines and the 9-hole, par-32 Academy Course. The three championship nines - Lake, Ridge, and Meadow - are all links-style with wide-open fairways bordered by tall fescue grasses and challenged by the wind. The course features intricate movement, impressive variety, and natural wetlands that extend from tee to green and increase the challenge. Devilish strategic bunkering, along with false fronts and falloffs at the elevated putting surfaces, make every hole challenging. The natural setting of Neshanic Valley Golf Course attracts abundant wildlife and is protected and enhanced by Audubon International. The top-rated course has a pro shop, grill room, and practice facilities that provide ample opportunities for warm-up and practice. If you are looking for a scenic and challenging championship course, Neshanic Valley Golf Course is an excellent choice.
