Oyster Bay Golf Links is an award-winning golf course that was voted the 1983 Golf Digest "Resort Course of the Year." This golf course has been ranked among the top 50 public courses in the country in 1990 by the same publication. It is a unique blend of the penal, heroic, and strategic philosophies of golf course architecture. Oyster Bay Golf Links was created by architect Dan Maples and developer Larry Young who focused on variety and innovation. The course features severe marsh-oriented holes, two island green par threes, strategic fresh water lakes, long holes, short holes, and a combination of shot-making requirements. With a par of 70, the course plays to just under 6,700 yards. However, Oyster Bay Golf Links is a challenging course due to its cavernous bunkers, wickedly undulating greens, and lengthy par 4's.
