Sassamon Trace Golf Course is a nine-hole executive length golf course designed with the beginning golfer in mind. The course follows the classic tradition of studying the natural terrain and routing the holes accordingly. The right edge of each of the Natick holes is defined by the strategic utilization of the steep side slope of the landfill. The prevailing wind during the summer will affect golf shots on the landfill, but it can also help play certain holes, such as the third hole where the prevailing wind comes from right to left, holding the shot. Each hole offers plenty of tee space and angle variation, providing a different look each time the course is played. The large greens at Sassamon Trace Golf Course increase golfers' confidence by allowing them to find "the dance floor" more often. However, it should not be assumed that every hole is a birdie. The course's premium is placed on putting, with gentle rolls and changes in slope adding to the challenge.
